Currently pursuing a degree in Music Education from the East Texas A&M University (formerly A&M Commerce), Amias Campbell is a composer, performer, and designer from the North Texas Region, and serves as the brass arranger and drill writer for the Lone Star Regiment DBC. Amias has developed a strong passion for composition, arranging, and the creative process behind bringing a production to life. Over the years, he has written 10 full-length marching band and drum corps show concepts, along with more than 150 transcriptions and 700 arrangements for brass and woodwind instruments. Outside of his work with Lone Star Regiment, Amias has built a community of more than 23,000 followers across four social media platforms under the persona “No Common Sense,” where he uses his platform to share his passion for music and encourage others to pursue their own creative interests. Through his Marching Band Composition Competition, Amias provides aspiring composers with opportunities to showcase their work while receiving detailed feedback designed to help them develop and refine their craft. Amias also works closely with the developers of OpenMarch, a free, open-source drill writing software, helping organize events and competitions within its community. With Lone Star Regiment, Amias hopes to bring his experience, creativity, and passion for composition and design to the organization while helping create an environment where performers and creators alike can grow, collaborate, and develop a deeper appreciation for the marching arts.
