James is an established musician, composer, and show designer from the Texas hill country, having been involved with the marching arts for a number of years. He leads Lonestar Regiment with experience in multiple collegiate levels ensembles, and is also a three year DCI veteran. James' passion for the marching arts is unmatched having performed for 11 seasons with a variety of different marching ensembles.
James, currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sports Medicine from the University of North Texas, has already completed a music minor. During his time at UNT, he performs with the esteemed concert winds and horn choirs, gaining valuable experience that he applies to foster a student-first culture within his ensembles. Additionally, James leverages his sports medicine expertise to enhance student safety and well-being within the corps, maintaining high standards of strength and welfare to ensure the success of the ensemble.
As one of the founding members of the Lonestar Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, James is honored to lead the program into an era characterized by passion, dedication, safety, and opportunity. He aims to create an environment with a rich and committed culture, centered around excellence and family. Collaborating with fellow Corps Director Kate, James shares a unique vision to build a passionate and enduring impact on the Drum Corps community.
