Mr. Nathan Paul Picard is a music educator, performer, and designer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, joining the Lonestar Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps as Percussion Caption Head and Program Coordinator.

Nathan Paul brings a broad and accomplished background in both the marching arts and concert performance. As a DCI and WGI alumnus, he performed in the front ensemble with the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps (2022), Memphis Blues Drum Corps (2023), and St. Martin Independent (2022–2023), earning WGI Bronze and Silver Medals in Percussion Independent A. Most recently, he marched with the MGCCC Band of Gold (2024–2025). His battery roots trace back to the University of Southern Mississippi Pride of Mississippi Drumline and a decorated high school career at D’Iberville, playing every battery instrument at some point.

On the teaching side, Nathan Paul has served as a staff member and clinician for numerous Mississippi Gulf Coast programs, including Gulfport High School and Biloxi High School (Front Ensemble Coordinator, current), Pascagoula and Vancleave High School (Battery Coordinator), D’Iberville High School (Percussion Coordinator), and clinician roles at Bay High, Stone High, and St. Martin High. He was contracted on staff with Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps (2024) prior to the corps’ closure, and served as a clinician for Memphis Blues (2024).

As a concert performer, Nathan Paul currently serves as Principal Percussionist of the Biloxi Civic Orchestra and performs with the Coastal Winds Community Wind Ensemble. He is the 2026 winner of the Percussive Arts Society Mississippi Chapter Virtual Solo Competition, a two-time recipient of the USM Marty Hurley Leadership Award, and a student at William Carey University pursuing a degree in Instrumental and Choral Music Education. He resides on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with his wife, where they are expecting their first child.
